Nintendo have announced details for the latest Wii U system update.
The main feature included in this update is the Quick Start function, which allows users to start games or applications they want to use directly from the GamePad without going to the Wii U Menu first. The Quick Start screen will display 10 of the user’s recently used or installed games and applications.
Nintendo have also mentioned the additional changes as part of the update:
– Users can now receive occasional visual notifications about new games and products, special promotions and moreon their GamePad controllers. Users can adjust or remove alert sounds, choose whether to power up the GamePad when notifications arrive and even define the hours during which notifications will automatically display (such as in the middle of the night).
– System updates, in addition to being downloaded automatically, are now also installed automatically while the Wii U console is powered down.
– Easier Nintendo Network ID setup for new users.
– Notifications (different to notifications on the Wii U GamePad) can now be accessed from the Home Menu as well as the Wii U Menu.
The Wii U update is now available for download. More information on this system update can be found on the official Nintendo site.
