Sony Announces Revised PS Vita

Sony has announced a revised model of its handheld console, the PS Vita, at today’s press conference in Japan.

 

In a statement, Sony mention that the new PS Vita is slimmer by 20% and lighter by 15%, compared to the current model, and also features a 1GB internal memory card. The new model Vita also has a battery life of 4-6 hours, making it one hour more efficient than the current model.

The PS Vita will come in six colours, being Black, White, Lime-Green/White, Light-Blue/White, Pink/Black and Khaki/Black, and will be available as Wi-Fi only. In addition to the revised PS Vita, a 64GB memory card has also been announced, increasing the size capacity of PS Vita memory cards up from 32GB.

 

The revised PS Vita will release in Japan on 10 October 2013, with the 64GB memory card also releasing on the same date. We’ll keep you up to date when we hear word of a local release.
