Ubisoft Announce Far Cry 4

Today Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 4; an open-world first-person shooter much like the previous games in the series. It will be set in Kyrat, a fictional region of the Himalayas that is governed by a self-appointed king.

Development on Far Cry 4 is being led by the Ubisoft Montreal studio in collaboration with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.

With this announcement so close to E3 be sure to tune in to Ubisoft’s media briefing to check out the latest trailer and hopefully some gameplay footage.

With Far Cry 3 being such a great game filled with various places to explore hopefully Far Cry 4 will bring some of that back and mix it with the exotic setting of the Himalayas. I can already imagine myself hang gliding through the mountains and tactically planning out my next outpost takeover.

Far Cry 4 is set to release this year on November 18 in the US and November 20 in Europe (and hopefully Australia). The game will be available on both generations of consoles – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – as well as the PC.
