Sony Reveals PS4 2.50 Update “Yukimura”

PS4 owners will be excited with the next update as System Software Version 2.50 will introduce a stack of new features for the console.

Codenamed “Yukimura”, system update 2.50 will introduce a number of new features, with the most notable one being System Suspend & Resume functionality. This allows users to suspend their PS4 during gameplay and resume playing from exactly where they left off. Another noteworthy feature is streaming Share Play and Remote Play at 60 frames per second, allowing users to play games through a secondary device providing they have a high-speed internet connection.

Along with this, “Yukimura” also improves trophy integration by automatically capturing a screenshot at the moment each is earned, allows for subaccounts to be promoted to master accounts via PS4 for users who are over the age of 18, introduces the ability to import your Facebook friends directly onto your PS4 friends list, and allows users to upload their gameplay content to Dailymotion.

“Yukimura” also introduces a range of accessibility options for the PS4, such as text to speech, enlarged text, bolder fonts, higher contrast UI, zoom for displayed pictures, and invert colours on screen to name a few. Sony also mention that users will also be able to reassign buttons for the DualShock 4 controller. This is especially handy for users who might prefer using a different button layout instead of the default.

PS4 users will be able to update to 2.50 “Yukimura” soon. For more details about the upcoming update, head over to the official PlayStation Blog.
