Sony has received FCC certification for the PlayStation 4, allowing for the console to be sold in the US.
In an article published on Engadget, FCC documents show that model no. CUH-1001A (consumer model PlayStation 4) will weigh 2.8kg and will have a maximum clock frequency of 2.75GHz. In addition to this, the operating temperature of the PlayStation 4 is shown to be between 5-35 deg. C, with size dimensions of 275 x 53 x 105mm.
Compared to the PlayStation 3, it seems that the PlayStation 4 will be running a lot cooler. The PlayStation 3 is said to run between 45 and 55 deg. C, with temperatures over 60 deg. C placing the current console at risk of the dreaded Yellow Light of Death.
PlayStation 4 is set to release in Australia by the end of the year. We have also posted the FCC certification documents below for you to have a look at.
