Platinum Games Apologises for Scalebound Cancellation

After the unfortunate news from yesterday that Scalebound had been cancelled, Platinum Games have apologised to their fans.

President and CEO of Platinum Games, Kenichi Sato, posted a statement on the developer’s official blog earlier today:

We’re sorry to say that on January 9, 2017, Microsoft Studios announced the cancellation of Scalebound. We are very disappointed things ended up this way, especially since we know many of our fans were looking forward to this game as much as we were.

Going forward, we will strive to continue delivering high-quality games to you, starting with NieR:Automata in March, and including products like GRANBLUE FANTASY Project Re:Link and LOST ORDER in the future.

We will keep working hard to meet your expectations and we look forward to your continued support!

Scalebound was a title we were looking forward to check out. Originally announced at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference in 2014, it was an RPG title featuring four player co-op and fast combat, along with an in-depth story where players could form bonds with dragons.

Were you looking forward to seeing the release of Scalebound? Let us know.
