EA have announced that the recently revealed next-gen Ford Mustang will be a playable in their latest racing title, Need for Speed Rivals.
The addition of the upcoming model will allow players and car enthusiasts to check out the car on a virtual platform before its release next year. Ford digital marketing manager, Andrea Zuehlk has commented on the popularity of the Ford Mustang, saying “During the past five decades, Mustang has become so much more than just a car”.
“The feeling of freedom and independence Mustang inspires has made it popular around the world, with more than half of its 5 million-plus Facebook fans coming from outside of North America.”
The Ford Mustang has made a significant impact in pop culture, especially in gaming with variants appearing in the Need for Speed franchise since 2005.
Players can get their hands on the next-gen Ford Mustang in the latest patch across all platforms. Need for Speed Rivals is available in retailers for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
