Aussie gamers can rest easy today as Grand Theft Auto V has received an R18+ rating from the Classification Board.
This is good news for fans of the series although maybe a little confusing, as the high drug use portion of the rating restricted both State of Decay and Saints Row IV from entering Australia under the same rating.
The two recent games were banned for explicit content as dictated by the Classification Board’s reports. The latter was eventually edited by Undead Labs, resubmitted and eventually released. A censored version of Saints Row IV is also expected to pass with an adults-only rating but we are unsure how cut down will it have to be for it to pass our inconsistent rating system.
Grand Theft Auto V will release in Australia on 17 September 2013.
