Square Enix have announced that beta testing of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PlayStation 4 will start on 22 February 2014.
The date coincides with the release of the PlayStation 4 in Japan, with players worldwide being invited to participate. The official launch date for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PlayStation 4 is scheduled for April 2014.
In addition, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has picked up the ‘Special Award at the 2014 PlayStation Awards in Tokyo.
The PlayStation Awards are hosted by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA), with the event recognising key titles released across the PlayStation platform. The ‘Special Award’ was a new category for this year’s event, which recognises titles on a combination of qualities such as “newness, buzz worthiness, influence and performance”.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently available for PlayStation 3 and PC.
