Money money money – I like money, and apparently Rockstar like to give away money. Not ‘real’ money of course, but in-game currency for the GTA Online aspect of the latest game. Why? Well anyone who has been playing GTA Online since it went live may have noticed a slew of technical issues that were cropping up in the first few days of game play. However, they have been getting better, and with some Title Updates slated to come on through, this will hopefully continue to get better and better!
Now, Rockstar haven’t been hiding under their blankets hoping the bad emails and comments would just disappear, they’ve listened and they’ve responded frequently. The latest response is regarding the provision of a Stimulus Package for anyone who have played or will play during the Month of October. How much? A sexy $500,000 being deposited in all GTA Online bank accounts for players starting as early as next week.
Obviously Rockstar want to keep the in-game economy balanced, so to counter this they will be providing the cash in two separate deposits of $250,000 each. The dates will be announced soon enough, but are hoping to have the first deposit by the end of next week.
But Chris, how do I know I qualify for the payout?! Easy there tiger, slow down. Rockstar have also released information on how it will all work, you can check those out below:
- – You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
- – Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
- – We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
- – Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
So what’s that mean? If you’ve NOT played Online yet, do it ASAP. Even if you want to finish off your single player walkthrough, I’d suggest at least creating a character and jumping Online to do at least the first few Tutorial Missions, that should at least get you approved for a payout. So what are you waiting for? Stop reading, start playing!
