Nintendo has announced that the latest update to the Nintendo 3DS will now include themes for personalising the Home Menu.
Themes allow users to change the menu background, icons and folders on their 3DS or 2DS console, as well as music and sound effects. As part of the update, five simple colour themes are included for users to play around with. However, Nintendo have launched an additional line-up of themes which can be purchased from the Theme Shop (a new option which can be found on the Home Screen).
These extra themes sport designs featuring Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi, along with designs paying tribute to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Animal Crossing: New Leaf (theme releases late October).
Character themes will cost $2.60 AUD each. Nintendo 3DS and 2DS users can update their consoles now to check out the new theme functionality.
