Xbox One Online Strategy ‘A Good Choice’ – Microsoft

In an interview filmed prior to Microsoft’s E3 press briefing and published on GameTrailers (7:55), Microsoft’s Don Mattrick has addressed concerns about the compulsory connectivity requirements of the Xbox One.

Don was quoted, saying “Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called the Xbox 360”. He went on to say:

“The average internet connection is working the majority of the day and people are imagining that it isn’t and it makes them worry. There was a point in time when all people wanted from their phone is to make a phone call and now you use your phone in richer ways because of that connectivity.”

While consumers have responded negatively to the news that Xbox One will require an internet connection for mandatory online licensing checks, Microsoft insists they made “a good choice”.

On Monday, Microsoft announced a November launch window for the Xbox One at the price of $599 AUD.
