Two Slim PS4 Consoles Releasing In September

A lot of information has come out of this morning’s PlayStation meeting including the announcement of two PlayStation 4 Slim consoles which are set to release later this month. Replacing the original PlayStation 4 which was released back in 2013, the slimmer and lighter consoles will be sold as the new standard console from Sony.

When comparing the new PS4 model to the current model, we’ve reduced volume by 30 percent, weight by 16 percent, and power consumption by 28 percent. Despite the sleek design, the new model packs all of the same powerful components that have made PS4 the best place to play. – Andrew House, President and Global CEO – PlayStation Blog

The DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller has also been updated with a new look and feel, including a more visible, colourful light bar.

Coming up first will be the 500GB PlayStation 4 Slim which is going to be on retail shelves as soon as September 16th for $439.95AUD RRP. For those willing to wait a little bit longer and need that extra storage space, the 1TB model of the slimmer and lighter PlayStation 4 will be available on September 29th for $509.95AUD RRP.
