The Xbox Duke Controller is Coming to Xbox One

There could be a re-emerging player in the Xbox controller scene as whisperings of the famous “Duke” controller could make its way to the Xbox One. A tweet was released from Seamus Blackey, who is currently working with peripheral manufacturer Hyperkin stating that Microsoft has now approved the use of a remade controller from the original Xbox.

At the time of writing Hyperkin are now working on gathering the tools they need to make this beast at it’s original size with “Many improvements but the same old feel.”

After being debuted by Microsoft back in 2001 with the Original Xbox, it was unofficially given the “Duke” name by the community due to the massive size of the beefy controller. Love it or hate it, the controller paved the way for the ones that we use today through the later released “S” version which more closely resembled the Xbox 360 and future controllers.

As someone who loved the original design I’m looking forward to “The Duke” controller re-emerging on this new generation of hardware.
