Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Vice President of Global Marketing, Isabelle Tomatis, announced on the official PlayStation blog last night that the entire family of PS5 products will be getting a massive price increase from April 2, 2026.
She explains, “With continued pressures in the global economic landscape, we’ve made the decision to increase the prices of PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player globally. We know that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide.”
Sony confirmed the new set of Australian prices early this morning:
- PS5 – $999.95 AUD RRP
- PS5 Digital Edition – $919.95 AUD RRP
- PS5 Pro – $1,399.95 AUD RRP
- PS Portal – $389.95 AUD RRP
The PS5 originally launched on November 12, 2020, at $749.95 AUD, and the PS5 Pro launched on November 7, 2024, at $1199.95 AUD.
So if you were considering buying into the PS5 family, you better do so this weekend before the prices go up on April 2nd!
