Sony Sells One Million PS4s in 24 Hours

Sony have announced that one million PlayStation 4 consoles have been sold in the first 24 hours from launching in the US and Canada.

In an article posted on Bloomberg, President and chief executive officer of Sony’s computer entertainment division, Jack Tretton commented on the success of sales, saying that “This is a marathon, not a sprint, but getting out to a nice start is a good thing. That hurdle has been cleared. We’re very, very confident we’re in great shape.”

Sony are predicting three million consoles to be sold by the end of the year, with other markets including Australia launching the PlayStation 4 in the coming weeks.

PlayStation 4 will release in Australia on 29 November 2013.
