No Voice Commands for Xbox One in Australia at Launch

Australia is still one of the 13 countries to be launching the Xbox One without delay, although voice commands won’t be making an immediate appearance.

An updated footnote appeared on the Xbox site today, mentioning:

Xbox voice commands will not be available in all markets on the product release date.  Voice commands will be available at launch in US, UK, CA, FR, and DE

We’re anticipating that local voice commands will be patched in at a later date. While this isn’t exactly a deal-breaker for future Xbox One owners, it’s certainly not the first time such an occurrence has happened. Voice commands for the Xbox 360 Kinect did not function in Australia until 13 months after its launch in November 2010.

Xbox One is set to launch in Australia in November this year.
