Satoru Iwata also had a number of new trailers and updates for upcoming Wii U titles. Let’s explore some of those announcements.
Gameboy Advance titles coming to Virtual Console
Starting in April, a handful of Gameboy Advance games will be coming to the Wii U’s virtual console. It was announced that Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advanced 3 would be making it’s way to gamers.
As Vooks.net has pointed out, the launch line up for Japan is much more robust including The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, Wario Land 4, Mario Tennis Advance, Advance Wars, Wario Ware and Golden Sun.
X – Gameplay trailer!
X the tentatively titled upcoming role playing game from Monolith Soft and Tetsua Takahashi finally shows off some combat gameplay. As a complete noob when it comes to the Xenoblade Chronicles, even I am suitably impressed by this hectic mishmash of violence. Also, mechs vs. monsters! You’ll need to skip to the 36:40 mark of this presentation.
NES Remix 2 – Available April 25
The NES Remix has not received universal praise from critics. Maybe those concerns will be addressed in the announced sequel that will see even more challenges from your favourite retro classics. Nintendo are also including a bonus game Super Luigi Bros. a mirrored version, with Luigi running right to left, of the classic game Super Mario Bros.
Super Smash Brothers trailer shows a new challenger: Little Mac from Punch-Out!! The champ will be joining the likes of Samus (shown here hilariously disparaging Little Mac’s height) on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Mario Kart 8 has a new trailer and the Mario gang looks impressive in HD. Joining the crew are the Koopalings to cause some trouble. Mario Kart 8 is set for May 31 release date in Australia.
Bayonetta 2 has a new trailer revealing more of the video game’s story including a ridiculously named Mountain. No salacious crotch shots opening this trailer, in case you were wondering. I’m going to add a NSFW label, just in case.
