Nintendo Announce the SNES Classic Mini Console

Nintendo have officially announced the release of the Nintendo Classic Mini: SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). Included with the system is one HDMI cable, one USB power cable*, and two wired Nintendo Classic Mini: Super NES Controllers – perfect for players to dive into multiplayer action right away. Some of the games with multiplayer options include Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Mario Kart, Contra III: The Alien Wars™ and Secret of Mana.

Step back into the 90s and re-experience some timeless classics when the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System launches in Australia and New Zealand on 30th September with a suggested retail price of AU$119.95. The Nintendo USB AC Adapter (SRP AU$19.95) will also launch on the same date, and is suitable for use with the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System has the same look and feel of the original system – only smaller – and comes pre-loaded with 21 games:

Most notably from this release is the announcement of Star Fox 2 and according to the press release, players must prove their skill by completing the first level of the original Star Fox before Star Fox 2 is unlocked to play.

The Nintendo Classic Mini: SNES is currently available to order from EB Games or JB-HiFi but stock is strictly limited to 1 per person. The console launches in Australia and New Zealand on the 30th September with a suggested retail price of AU$119.95.

*Note that an AC adapter for the USB cable (pictured above) is required to play the system but is not included in the packaging.
