Kojima Productions and Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release early next year.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue title created by Kojima Productions, which will provide an entry-level experience that leads into the events of their key upcoming title, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Hideo Kojima, head of Kojima Productions and creator of the Metal Gear Solid series comments on the FOX Engine:
“The advanced capabilities of the FOX Engine have allowed me to tell the new story in a new way. There will be a significant difference in what METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN brings to the series, so we want to ease players into the new open world environment and its potential. As such, METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES has been designed to introduce key elements, allowing them to fully benefit from all that the new game will offer.”
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes also intends to introduce players to the finer details of the FOX Engine, demonstrating missions where time of day and weather have a dynamic effect on the gameplay, and in turn, allowing players to familiarise themselves with the possibilities offered ahead of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release in early 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will also release in 2014.
