Everything from EA PLAY this E3

While EA didn’t have an official conference like other major companies this year at E3, they continued their trend of running their “EA Play” gameplay showcase. We were finally able to get a deeper look into the next Star Wars title, check out the latest sports titles coming this year and get excited for the latest in content updates from some existing games like Battlefield V and Apex Legends. Let’s take a look!

STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER

While we have been teased with details of another Star Wars game since E3 2018, it was great to finally get some more information and a gameplay demo! The gameplay speaks for itself but it’s filled with plenty of 3rd person, lightsaber slashing goodness and plenty of Stormtroopers to use your various force powers on. It also looks like the third-person action game will have various adventuring options which may allow you to tackle situations in multiple ways, adding to potential replay-ability. If Tomb Raider or Uncharted merged with Star Wars, this is the feeling I get from it and I’m excited for more!

There’s also an adorable droid named BD!

Available: 15th November 2019 on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

FIFA 20

An EA event wouldn’t be complete without another iteration of the FIFA series and this year is no exception. The standard roster updates and graphical updates are there but the biggest addition is FIFA is coming back to the streets with a new gameplay mode called VOLTA.

VOLTA Football lets players build their own character, express their individual style, and immerse themselves in a realistic street football experience. A brand-new style of gameplay grounded in football realism immerses players in the flow of the street with new tools including simplified flicks and skill moves, new flair animations, or using the wall as a teammate.

Available: 27th September 2019 on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

MADDEN 20

Where there’s FIFA, Madden will always be along side it and this year we will be able to follow your created character in their journey as part of the “Face of the Franchise” career mode.

Available: 2nd August 2019 on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

APEX LEGENDS

After having a very successful launch this year, Apex Legends has been rather quiet and almost criticize for their lack of content updates. But never fear, Respawn are here to deliver the goods and let you know where you’re dropping next. In the 20 or so minute session, we got details regarding a new Legend who can create fence-like devices that will help with detection of enemies and an ultimate availability that drops in a big airstrike while also boost/regenerating shields.

It was also announced that the developers are looking at making some big changes to the season pass for this upcoming season. Along with some new Legend and weapon skins we will also see a new Gold/Legendary weapon being introduced. This sub-machine gun will apparently have enough firepower to blow open doors and destroy any enemy in its path. Seems OP, pls nerf.

Season 2 Starts on the 2nd of July for PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Battlefield V

DICE has revealed some more information about Chapter 4 of their content packs for Battlefield V. Dubbed “Defying the Odds”, the pack will feature a few new maps like “Marita” which is set to release in July 2019. Also coming in the near future are a desert map “Al Sundan” a recreated BF3 map “Operation Underground”. DICE also mentioned another two maps coming in the future called “Provence” and “Loften Islands” so plenty of content here!

If that wasn’t enough, Battlefield V is also now in the Origin Vault which means anyone subscribed to Origin Access will now be able to play it without purchasing the game. Pretty cool!
