Bungie’s highly anticipated shooter has finally come to light as Destiny releases worldwide.
The new IP has become the highest pre-ordered title in history, which has endured rigorous amounts of testing during its alpha and beta. The tests which occurred earlier in the year amassed over 4.6 million players.
Bungie president Harold Ryan comments on the launch of Destiny, saying that it “is the game we’ve always wanted to make”.
“We’ve dreamt of this universe for years, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to swing open the doors and let fans shape this experience as they tell their unique stories in the game. For us, the next generation of games is all about allowing players to collide and interact with each other as they take on epic, action packed adventures all their own.”
Activision and Bungie have also mentioned that the Destiny Expansion Pass can be purchased. The expansion pass includes two expansions, both including brand new story missions, cooperative activities and competitive multiplayer arenas, along with new weapons, armour and gear.
The Expansion Pass is available at $39.99 AUD, with Expansion I launching in December and Expansion II sometime after. Both expansions can also be purchased separately for $24.99 AUD.
