If you’re a massive bungie fanboi like me, then you would’ve been all over the news this morning where Activision and Bungie confirmed not only their beta calendar for Destiny, but also their Collector’s and Limited Editions they have on offer. Information about the upcoming beta is explained further on in the article, but I’ll start off by detailing the information provided regarding these collector’s editions.
There are three Destiny collector’s editions on offer, which are The “Ghost” Edition and the Limited Edition (these two being physical versions), along with the third being the “Digital Guardian” Edition. For the two physical versions, they both include the following items:
- – Limited edition SteelBook™ Case and Game Disc
- – Guardian Folio
- – Arms & Armament Field Guide
- – Postcards from the Golden Age
- – Antique Star Chart
- – Collector’s Edition Digital Content Pack:
- – Unique Ghost Casing
- – Exclusive Player Emblem
- – Exclusive Player Ship Variant
Also included is the Destiny Expansion Pass. With this pass, it expands the Destiny adventure post-launch with the following two expansions, which will include brand new story missions, co-operative activities and competitive multiplayer arenas, along with a wealth of all new weapons, armour and gear to earn:
– Expansion I: The Dark Below – Set deep beneath the surface of the Moon, fans will discover an ancient tomb that has been unsealed, and a dark god who has risen an evil army in the depths of the Hellmouth, the home of the Hive enemy race
– Expansion II: House of Wolves – Details will be revealed later
– PlayStation platforms will also include additional exclusive content with each expansion
In addition to the above, the Destiny Ghost Edition will also include the following special items:
- – Ghost replica, featuring motion-activated lights and voice recordings from award-winning actor Peter Dinklage – voice of the Ghost character, the player’s personal companion in the game
- – Letter of Introduction
- – Golden Age Relics, which include a Photo, Patch, Sticker and two Chrome slides of the Traveler
If you pre-order the Destiny “Digital Guardian” Edition, this will include a digital download copy of the game, Expansion Pass as well as the Collector’s Edition Digital Content pack. Since it’s a digital copy, you don’t get to enjoy the awesomeness that is the physical items.
The Destiny Ghost Edition is $199.99 AUD and is available only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Destiny Limited Edition and Digital Guardian Editions are both priced at $129.99 AUD, with the Expansion Pass at $39.99 AUD (or individually priced at $24.99 AUD each) are available for all other consoles.
The above are all available for pre-order now which will include access to the Vanguard Armoury. This includes early access to weapons, gear as well as an exclusive player emblem. You can check out some additional details over on the Bungie.net News page.
Lastly, some additional information for the Beta phase was released as well. Anyone who has already pre-ordered should (or will) receive a Beta Access Code which will guarantee you Beta access. It’s as simple as grabbing your code, heading to bungie.net/beta and signing up with your code.
