Club Nintendo to be Discontinued

Nintendo have announced that Club Nintendo will be discontinued later this year.

The membership programme will be retired on 30 September, with a new programme to take its place. Nintendo have mentioned that users who sign up to the new programme during the launch period will be able to download Flipnote Studio 3D to a Nintendo 3DS system for free.

The phasing out of Club Nintendo will start from 1 April, with games released from this date onwards no longer including product registration cards. On 20 April, digital products obtained from the Nintendo eShop after this date will no longer appear in the My Registered Games & Systems page in Club Nintendo. 30 September will mark the end of Club Nintendo, with all its features no longer being possible to use.

Nintendo have provided an FAQ on the discontinuation of Club Nintendo on their website.
