BlizzCon Returns for 2019, Ticket Sales in May

Blizzard have announced that their annual gaming convention, BlizzCon is set to return for 2019.

Being held on 1-2 November, BlizzCon is a community celebration of all things Blizzard: Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch. The event will feature a wide range of attractions and activities for attendees, including in-depth developer panels, world-class esports competition, and opportunities for community creativity to shine in the spotlight.

President of Blizzard Entertainment, J. Allen Brack mentions that “BlizzCon has served as a home away from home for the Blizzard community, a place where online friends can meet up in real life and new friendships are formed”.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the show this year, reconnecting, celebrating, and sharing some of our latest developments.”

BlizzCon 2019 will be held in the U.S. at the Anaheim Convention Center. Although this may not be easy for us Australians to attend in person, Blizzard offers a Virtual Ticket for viewers to experience the full convention at home via multiple live streams.

If you are planning on attending BlizzCon 2019, there will be two ticket sale waves – the first one on Saturday 5 May at 3:00am AEST, and the second on Wednesday 9 May at 12:00pm AEST. Ticket purchasing can be done from the link here.

For the first time, Blizzard will be offering three ticket options for BlizzCon 2019, the BlizzCon Pass, BlizzCon Portal Pass, and BlizzCon Benefit Dinner. Blizzard have explained each ticket option and cost below:

  • BlizzCon Pass ($229.00 USD) – This is the core BlizzCon option, and what most attendees will want to go for. The BlizzCon Pass provides general-admission access to the show, along with access to Thursday’s new Pregame Festivities. You’ll also get this year’s in-game goodies (to be announced), along with your choice of BlizzCon 2019 Commemorative Collectible.
  • BlizzCon Portal Pass ($550.00 USD) – The BlizzCon Portal Pass is your gateway to an array of extras to enhance your convention experience, including access to the Darkmoon Faire area on the eve of BlizzCon for a special “Night at the Faire.” It also comes with convenient perks such as preferred parking, separate registration and security lines, early entry to the show on Friday and Saturday, a dedicated lounge for taking a load off during BlizzCon, and more.
  • BlizzCon Benefit Dinner ($750.00 USD) – The BlizzCon Benefit Dinner gives you a chance to meet and chat with developers, artists, and other folks from Blizzard the night before the show at a laid-back charity dinner—all for an exceptional cause. Your BlizzCon Benefit Dinner purchase also comes with entry to BlizzCon and all of the BlizzCon Portal Pass perks. Proceeds from the BlizzCon Benefit Dinner go to benefit CHOC Children’s, a charity whose mission is to nurture, advance, and protect the health and well-being of children.

Blizzard have also revealed the BlizzCon Commemorative Collectible statues for BlizzCon 2019, being the Orc Grunt and the Human Footman. Attendees who purchase a ticket to BlizzCon 2019 will receive a statue of their choice at the event.

If you are only interested in the statue, or would like to obtain both, they will be made available to purchase from the global Blizzard Gear store on 5 May.
