The beta will feature the Siege of Shanghai map. DICE mentions that players will “zigzag between the skyscrapers in helicopters or engage enemies right in the centre of the city”. The beta will also be introducing the Levolution concept, where players can take down a skyscraper, along with little details like raising bollards to stop advancing armour, and disabling car alarms from going off.
DICE General Manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson also mentions that the beta will only be available to those who are running 64-bit versions of Windows.
Note that you are required to run a 64-bit OS to join the Battlefield 4 Beta on PC. As a studio, we wanted to focus our efforts on testing the 64-bit version of the game. The full version of the game will also run on 32-bit Windows OS.
Earlier in the month, DICE provided PC system requirements for the full version of Battlefield 4 via the official Battlefield Twitter account:
Battlefield 4 will release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 31 October 2013. Battlefield 4 will also release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.
