PAX Aus 2019 Readiness Guide

It’s one week to go until PAX Aus kicks off for 2019! To get you ready for the best three days in the year for gaming, here’s a readiness guide for if you’re heading to Melbourne for the event.

  • Getting to the city from the airport

You could take a Taxi or an Uber, but surely you’d want the cheapest and efficient way there, right? The Skybus shuttle service runs between Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station in 10 minute intervals, and operates 24/7. Adult fares are $19.75 one way and $36.50 return. Tickets can be purchased online or from outside Terminal T1 (Qantas) and Terminal T3 (Virgin Australia), with boarding outside any terminal (T1-T4). Skybus also offer a hotel transfer service at no extra charge.

  • Knowing where PAX Aus is held and how to get there

PAX Aus will be at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, just opposite the Crown Casino. Best way to get there is via tram and getting off at Stop 124A: Casino/MCEC. Public Transport Victoria also have a journey planner, which can help you with the right train/bus/tram you need to get to PAX.

  • Opening times

PAX Aus opens at 10am to 11pm, with the expo hall closing at 6pm. If you want to be one of the first to enter the expo hall, make sure you get to PAX early to secure a good spot in the queue hall!

  • Exhibitors at the expo hall

While the official expo hall map has not been revealed just yet, exhibitors that have confirmed in the recent weeks to be attending PAX Aus are Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Blizzard, Bethesda, NVIDIA, 2K and Bungie. No doubt that this list will continue to grow within the week leading up to the event.

  • The panel schedule

Ready to start working out which panels you want to see? The panel schedule is live on the official PAX Aus website.

  • Download the PAX App

There’s an app for PAX? Sure is! It can also help you with your panel scheduling and your to-do list, as well as it informs you with any announcments during the event. The app can be downloaded for iOS and Android.

  • What about pins for this year?

As if we’d forget the pins! This year’s Pinny Arcade collection for PAX Aus can be found on the Penny Arcade website, with details on how you can obtain each one.
