EA and BioWare have announced that co-op multiplayer will be coming to their upcoming title, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The game’s multiplayer mode will feature a range of quests, objectives and dungeon exploring for up to four players in a team. Players will be able to collect loot from dungeon exploration, along with salvaging items, crafting new weapons and armor, and unlocking new characters.

EA have mentioned that at launch, players will be able to unlock up to twelve characters across the three Inquisition classes of Legionnaire, Reaver and Mage, each playing a different and strategic role in multiplayer combat.

General Manager for BioWare, Aaryn Flynn says that “for Dragon Age: Inquisition, a special team of veteran developers from the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises created fun, fast-paced multiplayer gameplay that requires strategic teamwork on top of Inquisition’s party-based combat and extensive loot and crafting system”.

“It was early in the game’s development that we realized how much fun fans of our series were having, with so many players teaming up in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode. We can’t wait to give Dragon Age fans an even bigger and deeper experience.”

EA also mention that the multiplayer aspect of Dragon Age: Inquisition is a standalone experience which does not impact on the single player gameplay.

Dragon Age: Inquisition releases on 20 November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
