In a rather stunning turn of events, Nintendo has announced Hyrule Warriors, a Legend of Zelda/ Dynasty Warriors hybrid during last night’s Nintendo Direct livestream.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was quick to stress that this title represents a collaborative effort with Tecmo Koei exploring a new direction for the series, and does not represent a new core installment to the franchise. Iwata stated that it combined the “tried and true action” of the Warriors series with iconic weapons and enemies from the Zelda franchise.
Hyrule Warriors, which is not the final name, is due for release some time in 2014 for Wii U.
