Sydney’s First World of Tanks Tournament is Coming

Wargaming have announced that Sydney will play host to its first World of Tanks eSports tournament later this month.

The Wargaming.net League’s APAC Season Finals will be held at the new ESL Studio on 22 October, with a prize pool of $100,000 USD. Head of Competitive Gaming at Wargaming APAC, Jini Jun, comments on the upcoming event, mentioning that “hosting the APAC Season Finals in Sydney is an awesome way to deliver a true eSports spectacle in a new way for fans”.

“Australia is a beautiful country, and we’re showing that we have a real dedication to eSports in the region. We’re sure it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The setup of the finals will be single elimination, with two Semi Final (best of nine) rounds, then the Grand Final (best of 13). The total prize pool will be $100,000 USD; 1st place takes $50,000; 2nd, $25,000; 3rd and 4th, $12,500 each.
