Haven Expo 2016 is less than a week away and we’ll be on-site covering the event. With the event kicking off on Saturday 2nd July, we’ve got everything you need to know right here!
So if you’re wondering what Haven is, it’s a gaming and pop culture expo hosted in Mackay with a focus towards the North Queensland gaming and pop culture community. With two successful sold out shows in 2014 and 2015, the event is set to make a successful return this year with headlining guests Sam Witwer (Crashdown in Battlestar Galactica), Matthew Mercer (voice actor, Dungeon Master of Critical Role) and Marisha Ray (voice actor, Keyleth of Critical Role).
Joining them is Rae Johnston (Gizmodo, cosplayer) as host, along with Alanah Pearce (IGN), and cosplayers Eve Beauregard, Ardella, Something Wicked, Black Cat and AmenoKitarou to name a few.
In addition to the show floor, Haven will have many activities and panels to attend, with the event divided into two sessions – a day session for kids and an evening session for adults (more info in the Event Guide). The kids session starts at 1:00pm to 4:00pm with tickets costing $29. The adults session starts at 4:15pm with tickets starting at $59. Celebrity tokens and VIP tickets are also available.
