PS Vita Slim announced for UK

PS Vita Slim

Sony revealed at a press gathering that the PS Vita Slim would go on sale February 7 in the UK. Unfortunately, the new slim model will replace the current OLED model, once stock is depleted.

The PS Vita Slim has been available in Japan since October in a palette of six colours (only Black has been confirmed for the UK). The new PS Vita Slim is 15% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor. The 3G cellular model has been dropped in favour of WiFi only. The Slim also has better battery life and comes with 1GB of internal memory.

While the PS Vita Slim features a number of improvements over the current model – better ergonomics due to its reduced size and weight and internal memory – the original’s OLED display reportedly has a slight edge in brightness and fidelity. PlayStation Access TV have posted an unboxing video of the PS Vita Slim.
